The Fanned Flames guitar body made from a central core of quilt maple with bloodwood stripes and mahogany wings. The top is carved into a shape totally designed and conceived by Garry. A variety of carved features include a comfortable rear tummy cut, neck heel and curved top with scallops. The body is finished in a clear nitrocellulose.
Hardware
All hardware, including the ABM bridge, Gotoh Tuners, knobs switches and strap buttons are finished in black The strap buttons are flushmount Dunlop Straplocks.
Pickups & Signal Controls
Seymour Duncan P-Rails pickups are installed in both bridge and neck positions. The pickups are capable of producing three seperate sounds including P-90, humbucker and strat blade modes. A small toggle switch between the two volume controls selects the modes simultaneously for both pickups. Controls include independant volume controls for each pickup and a single tone control. Pickup selection is by a three-way pickup selector switch conveniently accessible near the upper horn.
Neck construction
The neck is made from a flatsawn piece of mahogany maple that is capped by a ziricote fingerboard with a 12 inch radius. The Fanned Flames' neck includes a two-way truss rod (adjustable at the neck heel) and two internal carbon fiber shafts to improve stiffness. The combination of truss rod and carbon fiber shafts make a very stable neck that needs little adjustment through the changing seasons. This neck has a flatter D shaped rear profile.
The headstock is a 10 degree angled, conically shaped headstock with a three plus three arrangement of its six Gotoh 510 Delta series tuners.
The inlays are our own special shape of a double flame made from Paua Abalone.
The nut is handcut from a piece of smooth, hard bone.
